Download Garena 2010
This is the latest garena client, a software that allows the dota players to connect themselves withing garena, a gaming network.
A short tutorial how to play in garena, go to www.garena.com and create an username, install this kitt, go to settings and add the shortcut of warcraft 3, enter a room, russian if you are from russia, us if your from us, etc, and press “play game” then go to network and a some games will appear.
This is a great tool to play dota, has no lag, and some pro players filtered by rooms, you can even gain level after wining games.
To play it you need the latest warcraft 3 patch who can be found on this website.

Playdota.com
This is the main Dota website since Dota-Allstars.com remained into the possession of someone else than the Dota founder, Icefrog.
Having cool graphics, the website playdota.com contains good guides, informations about the heroes/items from the game, tools, forums, etc.
Others interesting websites regarding dota during the time was dotaportal.com, dotawarcraft.info, and many more.
What playdota.com is missing is a pro design.

Getdota.com
Getdota.com appeared after dota-allstars.com was launched and has been the dota maps download center.
The website never had the maps, but was just linked to different external servers where people could download the map.
Getdota.com had some design changes, the first version was a very poor in design terms, and now there is the second one, which looks better.
Below there are screenshots showing how getdota.com looked during the past years, 2006, 2007 and 2008-today.

The history of the Dota map
Dota appeared in 2005 and was developed by Icefrog, as far as I know I exchanged some emails with him and he is a nice person.
During the years, they had the main website on dota-allstars.com and it was changed to playdota.com.
Also the download area was getdota.com, along with getdota.org and getdota.net.
Getdota.info is a backup to getdota.com keeping all the maps ready for download.
The map has evolved since those early years, making it the most popular warcraft 3 map, drawing player from the original “pg” games from battle.net, or any private servers they were playing.
The graphics improved, mostly changing the terrains, spells, etc, and new heroes and items were added into the game.
Some Dota clones appeared like heroes of newerth, demigod, etc.
But on competition Dota is keeping its success, and is played worldwide more than the original Warcraft 3 multiplayer games.
