It seems that DotA 6.73 will be released in a few hours. Getdota.com can’t be accessed at this time, probably because of the high amount of traffic generated by the new map.
The download link for the 6.73 map is not available at the moment and neither the changelog file as playdota.com can’t be accessed as well.
We will update as soon as the map will become available and we will offer a download link from a our fast mirror.
Since tomorrow is Christmas, the 6.73 map could be a season map with some Christmas elements, the same as the maps that have been released in the previous years.
Update. Download DotA 6.73 from here, free, very fast server. The changelog is available and there are four new heroes and around five new items. Almost all the heroes have received certain changes, buffs or nerfs.
There are even some Christmas elements, a Pudge Christmas skin, new theme for the map named “CM skin”, probably CM is coming from Christmas.

A new map was released a few minutes ago, DotA 6.72d.
DotA 6.72e was also released today, correcting a bug, download link. “Fixed a major bug with Firefly whenever there were no observers in the game.”
Icefrog has released a few minutes ago, the third map within this week, DotA 6.72f that is correcting a bug (“Spirit Bear would sometimes not have the Return ability active after it respawns until an enemy hero hits it.”)

The new things for this map? Some heroes received some tweaks. For items, “Cranium basher” is now cheaper, from 1150, it now costs 1000 gold.
A lot of bugs have been fixed. This version is mostly about fixing bugs, there are no new heroes or items.

This weekend, we got a new map for Dota, the 6.72c version, coming after one month since 6.72b.
What is new in 6.72c? We got a few changes for heroes. Gondar is getting more intellect, from 16 to 19, Crystal Maiden has got a major change.
A few new visual effects, spell graphic effects that are depending on the hero that you play, and also, a few bug fixes. Download Dota 6.72c, download link.

Most likely, this is the final version for now as 6.72b didn’t corrected so many bugs, to make an estimation, a new DotA map will come out in the summer or during this winter.

There is a new DotA map available, the 6.72 version.
Changes: many tweaks, almost every hero in the game has received nerfs / buffs. You can consult the changelog on getdota.com for complete details.
Except the heroes, there are some changes regarding getting XP. It seems that right now, the heroes will get the XP even if they are not in the range where an enemy hero was killed.

The AI maps are using bots that will replace the human players. The bots are obviously not better than real players but they might be better than DotA beginners.

This is the latest garena client, a software that connects the DotA players and allows them to play.
A short tutorial of how to play on Garena.
Go to www.garena.com and create an username, install their client, go to “settings” and add the Warcraft 3 shortcut.
Start the Garena client, enter a room, “russian” if you are from Russia for example, and press “play game”. Inside the Warcraft 3 main menu, go to “Network” and a some games will appear. Join one.
This is a great way to play DotA because there is no lag, there is even a leveling system.
To play on Garena, you usually need the latest Warcraft 3 patch.
